Virginia Skin & Vein (VSV) brought to the Roanoke Valley in January 2005 the first medical practice primarily devoted to the treatment of disorders of the skin and veins. Dr. Marty Smith is a personable and professional physician specializing in Phlebology (diagnosis and treatment of vein disorders) and Dermatology. At Virginia Skin & Vein, LLC, our goal is to serve you in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Our many satisfied patients account for our continued success by consistently referring family and friends.
Dr. Smith has been in active private practice since 1985. He was the first physician in West Virginia to belong to the American College of Phlebology and has been treating venous disease since 1989. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians and is also Board Certified by The American Board of Phlebology.
Active involvement in professional organizations and continuing education keeps Dr. Smith current on new developments in skin and vein care. Through these affiliations, he is able to broaden his knowledge in the latest advances in the field and was the first to offer EVLA (Endovenous Laser Ablation). The American College of Phlebology provides the opportunity to interact with Phlebologists from around the world to keep abreast of the most up-to-date treatments for his patients. Dr. Smith's professional affiliations include: American College of Phlebology, American Society of Ambulatory Phlebectomy, and American Academy of Family Physicians.

Jason E. Bailey joined Virginia Skin and Vein in September 2006. Originally from Salem, Virginia, he is a graduate of Salem High School and Virginia Tech. He earned a B.S. in Physician Assistant studies in August 2006 from Carillon's PA program at Jefferson College in Roanoke, Virginia. He is board certified with the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants (VAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). His clinical interests include melanocytic neoplasms, photoaging, and chronic venous disease.
